Eat These Clean Foods While Breastfeeding

You’ve just delivered a baby into the world, and that takes a lot of effort. Now that the baby is here and you’re breastfeeding, it’s important to know that you’re eating for you and your little one. It’s more important than ever to eat foods that have a high nutritional count.
As your body is repairing itself, breastfeeding will be a drain on your body, and you’ll have less energy. If your body isn’t getting enough vitamins and minerals, then it’ll look elsewhere with your baby’s milk supply being the first source.
Eating the right food is fantastic for you and your baby and increase your mood as well as boost your energy levels to help with breastfeeding.
The biggest challenge most new mums make is knowing what foods to avoid and what foods to eat. There is a long list of what to avoid and what you can eat so below are five foods that are considered safe when breastfeeding.
Nature & Nurture Seeds
1. Kale
Kale has a high amount of Vitamin A, C, and K as well as magnesium, calcium and many other important minerals. People from all over the world swear by it as being one the healthiest veggies out there.
By mixing kale with other vegetables such as broccoli or asparagus, you’re giving your body all the nutrients it needs to breastfeed without any issues.
Kale can be added to lunches or recipes that contain winter vegetables and can be eaten at dinner time too. Just make sure to eat as much organic food as possible which reduces the number of toxins you’re eating.

2. Garlic
In the past, you had nursing mothers who would look after you and fed you garlic to help with the production of breast milk. Eating garlic can cause the milk to smell and taste different, but there are babies that love it. Garlic does contribute to cholic so if your baby suffers with it, avoid garlic.
A great strategy is to add little amounts of garlic to your food, this, in turn, will create milk and lets your baby enjoy garlic later on in life.

It’s worth noting that salmon contains the least amount of mercury just as sardines and herrings do, which make it fantastic for your diet. Not only does it contain all the nutrients your body requires but is also a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids which helps your babies brain grow.
It’s recommended that while you are breastfeeding to eat around 8 ounces of fish per week.

4. Carrots
If you’re looking to lose some baby weight, then the carrot is the go-to vegetable as they are a quick snack that is loaded with Vitamin A. Carrots are cheap to source, and once they are cleaned and chopped down, you’ll have instant access to a healthy snack.
