How to Stop Inflammation

It’s getting colder and colder, and all you feel like doing is snuggling up on the sofa with a nice warm pizza that you bought frozen from your local store. Who can blame you, it’s comfort food that makes us feel all snug.
What most people don’t realize is that eating processed food like pizza and bread can cause you inflammation and the good news is that you can still feel snug without eating all the processed junk but rather replace them with hearty vegetables and fruits such as the ones below.

Pears are quite tasty and what is even better is that their skin contains more nutrients than the inside of the pear. If you’re suffering high sugar levels, the pear will help lower them, and it can also help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. The nutrients inside the pear have a high amount of antioxidants and help prevent inflammation.

The blueberry is quite popular as contains fibre, Vitamin C and K and is low in calories. Blueberries contain more antioxidants than other traditional fruits and give the most nutrition.
Exercise can lead you to become tired and suffer from a little pain which is partially caused by inflammation, but the mineral and vitamins in blueberries help you recover more quickly as well as give you more energy post workout.

Apples contain two main components which make us feel less hunger, and that is fibre and water. Apples are that good; if you eat one apple per day, you’ll be able to lose 1lbs per week.
Apples are known for lowering the risk of cancer, diabetes and heart disease which are caused by inflammation due to eating processed foods. Eating an apple before a big meal is recommended as you tend to eat less.

Pumpkins are usually eaten in winter months and make a hearty meal due to their filling properties. They are high in vitamins as well as being low in calories which make them a perfect feast on a cold winter night.
Pumpkin’s contain some antioxidants such which help fight off bad bacteria and reduce the risk of inflammation. If you’re going to eat whole food, it has to be pumpkin due to containing Vitamin A and C, which boosts your immune system.

The best squash is the yellow variety due to having numerous health benefits such as increasing gut health, heart health and reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetes. Squash is full of nutrients such as Vitamin A, B6 and C, fibre, magnesium and potassium.
Squash helps you strengthen your bone health and helps process carbohydrates quickly which gives you more energy. It also contains some anti-oxidants which reduce inflammation.

Bell peppers, yellow in particular are actually a fruit and are made up of mostly water. They are a fantastic source of fibre, nutrients and anti-oxidants which helps supports the function of your red blood cells.
Don’t suffer from inflammation any longer, add the above to your diet and you’ll start to see an improvement in no time.
