How To Whiten Teeth Fast With Baking Soda

Having white teeth can be an important way to improve your confidence. Luckily, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on whitening kits or professional treatments. Brushing or rinsing with baking soda may help you whiten your teeth, but keep in mind that you should use it carefully. If you want to avoid tooth erosion, brush with baking soda sparingly and don’t use too much force. Keep in mind that discoloration is a sign of dental problems, so see a dentist if you haven’t had a check-up in a while.

Mix roughly the same amounts of baking soda and water. Mix ½ teaspoon of baking soda with enough water to make a paste, or ¼ to ½ teaspoon, in a small cup. A paste of 1 to 2 parts baking soda to 1 part water is easier to apply and more effective than baking soda alone.

Don’t make a paste out of baking soda and lemon, strawberry, or some other fruit juice. Fruit juices are acidic and could wear down your tooth enamel, especially when combined with baking soda or other abrasive products.

You can brush your teeth with the baking soda paste for 1 to 2 minutes. Dip a soft bristle brush into the paste and gently rub it over your teeth in circular motions. Brush all over instead of rubbing 1 spot for the entire 2-minute period. Don’t rub hard or you could hurt your teeth.

Another alternative is to use the tips of your fingers to gently rub the paste over your teeth. Rub in gentle circles, without much force.

If you have receding gums, don’t brush the bottom of your teeth or around the gum line with the baking soda. The substance that covers the teeth under the gums is softer than enamel and is prone to damage.

Rinse your mouth when you finish brushing. After brushing for 2 minutes, spit out the baking soda and rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash. Rinse the brush well too.

Keep in mind that it is not recommended to rinse after brushing with a fluoride toothpaste because doing so diminishes its beneficial effects. For this reason, do not brush or rinse with baking soda as soon as you finish brushing with regular toothpaste. If you actually have to rinse off visible residue after using regular toothpaste, use as little water as possible.

Repeat the process leaving a day for up to 2 weeks. Wash with baking soda leaving a day at most for 1 to 2 weeks. Then reduce the frequency to once or twice a week only. Since it is an abrasive, using the baking soda more often could hurt your teeth.

Keep in mind that brushing your teeth with baking soda should not replace brushing with regular toothpaste. Brushing twice a day with a fluoride paste, flossing daily, and getting regular dental checkups are the best ways to keep your teeth healthy.

They are likely to be sensitive to abrasion, and baking soda could cause irreversible erosion to your teeth.

How To Whiten Teeth Fast With Baking Soda – Hydrogen Peroxide?

Mix 2 parts of baking soda with 1 part of 1 to 3% hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide may whiten your teeth, but you have to use it with caution. To try this method, mix 2 parts baking soda with 1 part 1 to 3% hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Brush your teeth with the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes, and then rinse with water.

Use hydrogen peroxide with a concentration of 3% or less. Brush with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda at most once a month.

Stop brushing and rinse your mouth with cold water if you feel an irritating sensation. Don’t use this method if you have receding or sensitive gums, as the hydrogen peroxide can cause irritation and damage exposed root.

Safety Tip: It is important to rinse your mouth well after using hydrogen peroxide. Even diluted solutions can cause vomiting and an upset stomach if indigestion occurs. Also, any remaining residue could whiten your teeth and cause uneven whitening.

How To Whiten Teeth Fast With Baking Soda And Fluoride Paste?

Brush your teeth with a mixture of baking soda and fluoride paste. Squeeze the regular toothpaste onto your toothbrush, then sprinkle some baking soda on top. Brush your teeth as you normally would for 2 minutes in gentle circular motions. Then spit out and, if you have to clean up any white residue, rinse your mouth with a little water.

As with the baking soda and water paste, brush with this mixture sparingly. Give it a try by leaving a day for 1 to 2 weeks to start, then brushing with baking soda once or twice a week maximum.

You can also buy a toothpaste that already contains baking soda. For example, in the United States, look for products that have the seal of the American Dental Association (ADA). Otherwise, look for the regulatory body in your country and look for its seal. Use the paste according to the instructions.

If you have sensitive teeth or teeth that show dental erosion, avoid pastes that contain baking soda or that are named whitening products.

How To Whiten Teeth Fast With Baking Soda and water rinse – Gargle Method

Combine 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 cup (240 ml) of water in a glass, then stir the mixture until the baking soda is evenly distributed. Take a sip, gargle for 30 seconds, and spit out the mixture. Repeat the steps until you have finished the entire glass.

The baking soda rinse doesn’t erode your teeth, so it’s safe to gargle daily.

Gargling with a baking soda rinse indirectly whites teeth. Baking soda neutralizes acids, so it helps fight tooth erosion caused by acidic foods and drinks. It can help you fight the bacteria that cause cavities and stimulate the good ones that create a protective layer on the teeth.
